Defense downsizing in the early 90’s was a crippling but sober reminder of the importance of business diversity to the overall economy. Thousands of lost jobs underlined the need for change.

Strategy 2000 was designed to foster small business growth and development during this challenging time. Its mission: to create a healthy, less-defense dependent economy by supporting business development, international trade, and emerging technologies.

Promoting the growth of technology based business within the community is paramount to the strength of Fort Worth’s economy. Business incubator initiatives are supported by an extensive committee of volunteer business people, scientists, and educators who recognize the value of technical diversity.
